Sincerely,

Searched with this query in Google and got results that meant it is a kind of online marketing services for phishing websites. It is always better to stay away from them. So just ignore his approach. If he has mailed you then mark his email as a spam and block him.

By Aranza Trevino on April 12, 2023. Share this blog. Search engine phishing,
also known as SEO poisoning, is when cybercriminals use search engine
optimization to appear as the top results on a search engine in an
attempt to lead searchers to a spoofed website
.

Do you own a domain that is very similar to any popular websites? Usually they offer ranking services for such domains. Usually it's just a scam. So you can safely ignore it.

According to my knowledge SEO Spoofing is a term used to describe a malicious practice in which a website's SEO is manipulated to deceive search engines and users. In simple terms, increasing a websites traffic or search engine ranking through fraudulent means.

what i know from the example they show to me, is they uses the search features/plugins in gov, edu and high DA websites. they insert keywords into websites search and rank the URL with search parameters.
im curious on whats the point of doing so, if the keywords that manage to rank are branded keywords, but not the DA keywords, or generic keywords.

It is a type of black hat SEO technique and it involves in misleading and unethical techniques such as cloaking, keyword stuffing and link manipulation. This leads to result in penalties or even bans from search engines for the website involved.

It is called domain spoofing. then use black hat SEO tactics to drive traffic to their duplicate site. Someone might spoof a website to sell low-quality products to profit from the reputation of a trusted store. They could also use the spoofed domain as part of a phishing scam.

is a black hat method of SEO in which the content of a site is altered so that search engines show different content than that shown to real users.

excuse me for bumping up an old thread..

i've seen those url with search parameters, it is more like hijacking brand term in SERP. something like display ads, if u click from the SERP and goes into the site, u will see the brand they 'promoting' but it doesnt provide any backlink, just visually. lots of shopify site suffer on this kind 'hack'
