Is there any way to retrieve old website content?

Hey,
Less than a year ago, I made a website on which I put a few quality articles. Rather soon after, I abandoned it because I thought it wasn't going anywhere.
Now that I think about it, I could give it another shot but the problem is that I cancelled the hosting for it (domain is still active though) so I can't access the website. It was built using Wordpress. My HDD died with all the backup content I had on it. I tried Wayback Machine but the only 2 screenshots it has are from the later time when the hosting was already cancelled. I contacted Hostgator support but sadly they said they didn't have any backup for the website.

Is there any other way to extract the content from a dead website?

I have the HDD but it's basically impossible to repair. Obviously I had some more important stuff on it so I sent it to a couple of services and all they could say was the price to get the materials and work to try and fix it would exceed over 800 USD and still there is a big chance it won't be able to go through.

I shared some of the content on Facebook and Twitter but these were only the links to the pages on my website.
 
Maybe you'll have more luck searching at screenshots,com , sometimes they move faster and have more info compared with wayback machine...
 
Long shot, but Google Cache perhaps?

I checked it and it looks like it costs a membership to use so I don't really want to buy if there is only a slim chance it could work.

Tried it but I couldn't get any results.
 
Your backups are gone. The hosts backups are gone. Google web cache & Archive.org web cache have no hits. If those cache services have it, doubt screenshots.com guy has it. That's it, there's nothing else. Unfortunately.
 
How broken is the HDD? If you can clone the drive there's lots of free software you can test to recover your files.

I don't really remember all the technical stuff but basically the problem is hardware based. Some parts inside HDD malfunctioned, stopped moving or broke. Computer recognizes that something is plugged in when I connect it but no software I tried was able to get any other response.
After sending it to a couple of service teams, they all came to the same conclusion that they have to find the exact same parts that are faulty, replace everything and hope for the best. And this all comes down to a decent amount of money.

Well, thank you guys for your help, I guess there is no way to get my content back. One more loss along with photos, university sheets, wallet with shitcoins.

At least it's a lesson I preach to everyone now - backup everything that's in a least bit important to you.
 
I am not sure if you have seen it already, because sometimes it works better than archive.org but archive.is NEVER deletes anything, I personally even use them to "back up" my sites.
 
I recall a similar issue. Windows wouldn't show my drive. Booted a linux live cd and it was visible along with the files.

I get a snaphot from domain ads that was taken 2 days ago. It doesn't show any older ones. Is there a way I could access older shots by archive.is?
