Is there any good method for Generative Engine Optimization? I wonder if there is any technique like Google SEO black hat?

I have been paying attention to the Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) section recently. Everyone is very interested in this new traffic source, and we can discuss GEO technology together. Of course, I have also seen a lot of technical content about Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) on major blogs, but I am not sure whether they are effective.

I learned from this article that GEO may become as popular as SEO in the future, and may even surpass SEO.Content source: https://llmvisible.ai/the-definitive-guide-to-generative-engine-optimization/ Optimization

I don't think there is any black hat shortcut for Generative Engine Optimization yet.

The best approach is to create clear, helpful, and well-structured content that directly answers what users might ask.

GEO’s hot right now! No hardcore black hat tricks for it yet, but tweaking content for AI crawlers with structured data and clear answers works

Is there any technology that can make Ai speed up the crawling of websites?

Im still figuring out GEO myself. How does it differ from regular SEO. Can we apply the same principles we use for search engines, or do we need entirely new strategies to optimize for AI driven content generation.
I am also researching and of course I am also recording some information myself. You can check out my blog https://llmvisible.ai/the-definitive-guide-to-generative-engine-optimization/

Try choosing a very niche topic, like no one is talking about, then write the content carefully. Then share it in a few places. After a few weeks, check it with gpt and you will see something surprising

GEO , what is this exactly? Generic optimization of my website ?

Write a lots of articles (different websites including also yours) about how your website is better than competitors.

GEO is interesting but it still pretty new. What seems to work best so far is writing clear and helpful content. I have not seen any real black hat tricks yet - just sticking to a good content and structure helps.

Good free tools to find keywords/phrases your competitors not use ?

Generative Engine Optimization is still new, but the best method is creating high-quality, conversational content that aligns with AI-driven search rather than using black hat tricks.

Do you have any real tracking data for sites that get traffic from these genAI engines? These new engines are taking traffic away for sure but it'd take a long time for them to drive as much traffic as traditional search engines do.

GEO is not as precise as SEO. There are many players in the market and things are rapidly changing. SEO reached stability due to Google's market dominance. Same thing might happen to GEO if either OpenAI or Gemini becomes the market leader in AI segment.

You’re right—Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is a hot topic right now because AI-driven search (Google SGE, Perplexity, ChatGPT browsing, etc.) is changing how people discover content.

Most blogs talk about it, but since it’s so new, a lot of the “strategies” are still experimental. What does seem effective so far:

  • Clear, structured answers → AI models tend to pull concise, well-formatted content (FAQs, lists, step-by-step guides).
  • Entity-based writing → covering topics with strong context and semantic depth makes it easier for AI to reference your site.
  • Authoritativeness → GEO rewards sites with expertise, trust, and citations since AI prefers reliable sources.
  • Fresh, up-to-date content → models often surface newer pages in responses.

So, while the buzz is big, think of GEO as an extension of good SEO + EEAT principles. It’s less about “tricks” and more about making your content AI-friendly (structured, authoritative, easy to parse).
