Group buy for SEO tools seem to be the way to go, but keep in mind an account can only be logged into one browser at a time, so having too many people in the group is a double-edged sword.

Dude! Get the 7 day trial just do your research on your competitions backlinks and find their keywords make a list and try to rank for those, when you need to do research again create another one pay 7 bucks and get your ass to work again... a week is enough to build a great and effective business plan I guess it's enough time to do essential SEO competition reverse engineering.
