Is there an easy way to do this?

New to blogging for commercial purposes and I'm going to be using FTS to automatically add content to my site. What I'd like to do is as the end of each post, insert a link out to one of my other sites/pages. I'd like it to be automatic and random. This way I can use it to generate site-wise links to my other sites without having all the same keyword.

I see two options: one being some kind of script where you put in a list of keywords and a list of URLs and it plays mix and match. An alternative (easier?) option would be to just have a text file of html links and have a script that just picks one at random when a post is created.

Is there anything like this or can anyone suggest an alternative? I love the thought of site-wide links but not as much if they only have a single anchor text and can only be to a single site.

Thanks!

Try using some free CMS. There are so many of these, just google phrase "open cms"

Sorry, but that didn't answer my question. My question was not what to use to set up a blog but rather how to automatically insert a line of text or a link into each blog post. Thanks though.

Any other responses?

I have only heard of plugins that add random text whenever the page is opened. You want the text to be permanent for each individual article, right?

Correct. I think it could be really useful to build automatic backlinks. You could load in a whole list of keyword/URL combos and just let it roll.

I think Maxblogpress ********** affiliate plugin allows you to do this. Basically you will have to set up each keyword with an affiliate link and it will automatically add a set number of them to each post. I think you can find it in the download section.

Biscut i thought about a similar plugin as well but it does not do what the thread starter wants as it is not random and not at the end of the posts but directly in the posts.

Still, might be worth a shot.

Hi, I looked at the maxblogpres plugin and it's definitely cool and I'll look at it for another purpose but it automatically links based on keywords and that's not what i'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Coming up blank so looks like I'll probably have to have this developed...

Hey, there are hundreds of simple (and some more complex) scripts out there that will do what you want. There are cgi scripts, php scripts, javascripts, and other types. There are sites that basically are warehouses of scripts you can search, to get what you want. I've coded my own randomizers, or you can look for available ones, for example:

(Oops they would not let me post links here, but use these sites to start your searches using the site search box utilities you will find there):

hotscripts.com

cgi.resourceindex.com

If you prefer asp or other type of code, just get to the script warehouse that focuses, or at least contains, that type of code, and do simple search to get started.

Hope that helps you to get moving with your solution.

Thanks. The problem with these is that I'm not a coder and I would have not the first clue on how to integrate something like this into my wordpress blog. That's why I was looking for a pre-existing plug-in. I know there are randomizers out there but I need one that can specifically work with wordpress and is easy to install and configure. If you have a specific recommendation, that would be great.
