A company in my country gets stuff from airport/train station lost & founds and sells them online. They also sell iphone with activation lock. Is there a way to remove the iphone from the icloud account? Im guessing no because the iphone is cheap lol. But maybe somebody here knows more.

You can remove the activation lock from all iphones, ipads but...yes there is a but, once that device reaches a persons hands and he or she has some technical issue and decides to take it to a non apple or an apple auth service provider ( eventaully they all end up within an apple auth service provider) it will be scanned and once the serials(hardware match the database of a "lost phone" then bam the phone is locked again with a geo location. Now for the interesting part, if that owner has declared the device stolen and has done the needed steps with the authorities then he may recieve a notification mail saying that your device has "popped up there" ...thats when the big arm of the law will go into affect if the previous owners decides to do so. The issue is that the device lock needs to be removed from within apples database servers otherwise the device is a ticking timebomb and a load of headaches if the device was purchased outside the legal methods or was not properlly configure before it was sold. i.e. Person A selling apple device to person B. Person A must remove the device from his apple id/icloud dashbaord when logged into apple dashboard. If that's completed and the phone is reset to factory settings and it will begin its downloading process of software updates etc. If an attempt to restore to factory settings without it beign removed from the internal apple database then the phone will go into device lock shortly after it connects to the internet. But remember..no matter what is deleted or reset if the main databse shows a device is declared missing or stolen and the owner has placed a device lock then eventually the new owner will be in for surprise. Hope that makes sensce...and yes.. the mic and cam are not what they appear to be on all smart phone devices ;-)
