Is there a new metric for PR?

In the old days, I could buy like 20xPR4 blog comments and gain PR2 maybe even 3 within the next update like nothing.

Now, I have a site (1 content page), fresh domain, 3 weeks old, Payday loans, Ranking #14 ATM for his kw (7,800), all he has is 8 links from Sape at the cost of about $13/month.
Those links are d0 f0ll0w and of course come from high PR pages (home and inner). The pages I bought links on maintained their PR - maybe some dropped by a little.

How come my site got from PR n/a to just PR0? It should easily achieve PR3/4...

It takes time to calculate the PR. Since your site is 3 weeks old and the PR update had just happened i think it`s just too soon to see proper PR.

Cheers

What do you mean it takes time?

Google obviously indexed the links from Sape, hence the rankings..so if google see 2xPR5 + 3xPR4 + 3xPR3 what is there to calculate?
It should easily get PR2 at least... that's from my experience maybe I'm just way wrong...

I have a couple of new sites that are still pr 0 as well.. they're a couple of months old and should be at least a pr 3, but don't worry i've seen this before on my young sites that when a pr update happens they still stay as pr 0... They'll go up in the next update.

P.s forgot to mention though.. i do have some weebly sites with pa over 50 that are still pr 0, so dunno what's up with that.. maybe they have tweeked their metrics and that's what took them so long to update..

Ask Cutt Matts :)

There is no "new formula". Math is math bro.

It is likely an issue with amount of OBLs that are messing with your PR results.

I know that math is math, that's why i'm asking...

Those sites I bought links from are alexa <500k, PR3+, OBL <5...oh and also niche specific and English sites only.

There was a PR update today, whatever you see is what's accurate. PR doesn't matter relative to rankings, only matters for the pages you're getting links from.

The PR Google makes public is not real. It's either from their historic index or some very delayed data. They are not giving SEO's anymore precise data, all data you get from Google is either delayed or skewed.

Ahrefs and others have a pretty good estimate of PR but they can't call it PR due to trademark.

Anyone doing business based on PR, buying links based on PR or judging anything based on PR is doing it wrong.

Yeah but I don't care how people do their business decisions, PR will remain the #1 factor when buying links in bulk so yes, its pretty damn important.
