Is there a limit on fan pages per account?

I have an idea which involves creating several fan pages a day.. which will soon mount up to hundreds. Is it safe to do this from a single account? Anybody have experience with this? I'm completely new to facebook marketing and fan pages, so I've no idea whether this is considered spammy or not.

I don't think there is any limit for the number of fan pages that you can create per account
I seen a thread few days ago in which the guy was asking to create total 1000 fan pages for 10 accounts ( 100 pages per account )
however I wouldn't recommend to do so
never keep all the eggs in same basket
its really unsafe
incase your account gets banned for whatsoever reason then you will lose all the pages
just create few fan pages per account

For what it is worth, I had 8 self made large fan pages last year. All of the were either deleted or turned to community pages months apart, even when posting the same messages/links on all of them at the same time. You'd think that Facebook would just ban them or recategorize them all at once, but it doesn't seem to be that way.

I've been testing an idea and have so far made about 30 different fan pages over the last week or so. I have split them up between 3 different accounts that I have so far just in case something happens to one of the accounts so I won't lose them all.

I have test with a home made bot and delay between fan page step creation... well i have over 200 page per account . And with the test i make before , i only see problem when fanpages is create too fast , thats why i put a delay

it is always safe to use different accounts for creating fan pages.

I would usually limit 10-15 fan pages in one account. It keeps you safe from being banned from any networking sites.
