I looked online but mostly found paid options, some were pretty crap as I needed to use a brush to remove the text which would take ages.
Is there a free method to quickly remove captions from video?

I don't think so, such operation is not easy, because every frame of video is like image file
AI tools can do that, but there will be never perfect AI for that. It will be always brush.
What I can suggest, is to zoom video with caption, to make captions not visible, but you are loosing the part of video

Thanks, I found one AI tool but it's paid, it won't exactly break the bank but yeah, annoying lol

You can try, but AI need to put something in place of removed captions.
Problem they don't know what to put there, because video file haven't such information.
They need to restore by understanding pixels around and that's making it almost impossible to remove captions without more or less trace

There's no such feature
I tested it and it worked perfectly, couldn't see a blur or anything. You have to buy credits to use it though. I'll need to figure the pricing out

Using a video editing app: You can download the video and use video editing apps like InShot, CapCut or VN to cut out the subtitles. You can simply crop or cover the subtitles by adding another image or video layer.

That takes time though, it's not a quick solution.
