Is the Unsubscribe page a trap?

Somehow those bastards got hold of my personal email which I use only on government and university websites and to contact only people I know personally. I try to unsubscribe as much as I can because they are all just pure promotional spam. I believe one of those friends got hacked but anyways..

Sometimes when I'm filling in this unsubscribe page, I get the feeling that I'm subscribing for even more spam. If they are unethical enough to spam me with offers, they'd have no problem doing the reverse effect of unsubscribing.

What do you guys think? Are there such traps out there?

I haven't seen a major increase in the spam flow but it looks suspicious that the spammers of gambling/dating/pills offers include an unsubscribe link.
