Is the moderation system braindead?

This is now the 3rd time that I am trying to post a 100% legit piece of text, without any URLs etc - but the moderation system keeps popping up telling me something is wrong about my posting.... suggesting I could be spamming.

I'd be happy to review my posting and modify it accordingly.
(I actually tried doing that already)

But apparently it is TOP SECRET what exactly has triggered the moderation system?

Wouldn't it be MUCH MORE INTUITVE to highlight the offending keywords/passages that require reworking?

I agree. Some the the rules are silly. I just had to put in comnetorg in another post just now, instead of putting the daught in front of each, just referring to the tld's alone. duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh come on bhw
btw my post was pure advice for someone else, and i get treated like a dawg! ,( sarcastic tears
 

Yes I remember having some of these problems as well as
others when I first signed on.

I also feel some of the rules/policies could stand to be
reviewed/updated.

I guess it depends a lot on the nature of your postings and the style/syntax you are accustomed to. But then again, you also got 420+ postings already, so you are in completely different situation ...

BHW needs to be a clean site, and if they loosened restrictions significantly, I guarantee the Shit List would filled with 10x the complaints. Noobs needs to be on probation; it thins out the dupe accounts and scammers. Noobs can't be hand held either.

If people want to bitch about free speech and debate politics... there's other forums for that, which don't have to do with making bank.
 
I agree with all of what you are saying, and I absolutely understand the reasons for these rules and conditions.

However, I think they are currently implemented in a rather blunt fashion, I have meanwhile exchanged some PMs and I think we came up with a list of pretty good compromise for providing a greater deal of flexibility, while still retaining all restrictions so that there's no additional spamming/scamming caused.

Just a little patience bro just keep posting, once you reach more than 100 posts i think you will not have any problem with posting.

Keep adding quality posts and break out of "newbie" status and life will get much easier. I ran into the exact same problems as you when I was first on BHW.
 
Agree with all what you are saying, but this isn't just about me - this is a general thing and I actually noticed that it REALLY is brain dead: when I quoted another posting from this thread that contained keywords that were not allowed to be used by new members, the anti-spam/anti-scam system got triggered again, even though it was just the quoted text that contained the corresponding words :-)

So the heuristics really are pretty blunt and questionable ... ;-)

Hahaha. I have noticed this too. Just quoting someone has triggered the filter for me, since the original poster is not subject to the filter. But I am.
 
Well, it is not the 100 posts that matter, but the age of your account together with the post count is what it matters!

See a simple thing! :)

Every day, atleast $200 is scammed in DP voucher section! :) $1000 from one of my friend at once as well :)

The thing is, new accounts gets full right to post, PM etc and those newbies scam the genuine newbies! :D

Guess what? This system may count you nuts, but keeps your pocket safe!

Still, could be improved i agree :)

I've been here for quite a while and apparently my post count got wiped out a while back (awesome). I didn't post much but i was definetly over the 50 post limit, lol.

Anyways, this moderation system blows - EVERY post i make doesn't let it go through saying it's detected as spam... get rid of this thing or lighten it up, dang. Hopefully this goes through.


edit; WOW why does it say i only have one post here? My post count has been wiped NUMEROUS times and i really would like an explanation this is ridiculous.
 
Same problem here.

You are trying to post a message that has triggered our moderation system. Double check our rules to make sure you are posting something that is appropriate. We don't tolerate any selling, posting contact information, urls, swearing, giving thanks ect.

The post I tried to make, had:
- no selling
- no contact info
- no links or URLs
- no swearing
- no thanks

Instead it did have:
- helpful info about email marketing.

This is awful. I consider myself an experienced marketer and I'm active on other boards. I'm sure I'd have a lot to contribute. But I don't think I want to deal with this bs. It's easier to go elsewhere.
 
Whenever i make a new thread it gives me that; but it lets me post here fine. Not only am I losing my post counts all over the place (aka a waste of time posting now), but I cannot make threads.

It wasn't letting make my thread I typed out entirely, so i took it all away and had a one random word title with a sentence in the body (something about how the moderation filter sucks and wont even let me post this) with no links, emails, domain extensions, crazy characters, etc and it didn't even let me post that.

Wow.
 
Wow another one of these threads. Can you post as a reply to this thread what you were going to post that got blocked so we can see what you're saying wrong?

P.s. Reply to stuff for a while (not worthless replies but legitimate contributions) until you get your postcount up to about 50 and you should have any thread posting problems

Honestly, all technical issues aside, if you're posting only for the post count, i.e. if it doesn't get counted it's "a waste of time" for you, then the system probably worked just right.

Look, if you can't or don't want to contribute to a conversation just for the post's own merit, you probably shouldn't.

Im not posting for the "post count" - in fact i use to be quite the active member but just came back recently. I don't really do blackhat, but I have contributed to this forum (not just self inflating my post count..) But my post count has been reset multiple times, for sure. Every single post deleted/pruned/whatever.

Granted i haven't that many posts recently, but my post count shouldn't still disappear.
