Is the client downplaying my results?

So after about a month of testing, I started getting my clients instagram leads regularly.

After a total 7 months of work after that, they are like "Well paids ads is not a big deal, we could have figured it out as well".

Are they downplaying my results? Or is it a fact of life that I shall accept?

I checked their history and they spent close to $600 before I took over for nothing basically.

Am I getting taken for a ride here?

PS: They have been paying me a monthly fee. That's not an issue.

Are they kicking you without payment or they just don´t want to pay u anymore?

If they are not paying you 7 months tell them that you are going to sue if they don´t care just sue, why were u working 7 months without monthly payment?

If they are just firing you just let them try media buying, fail and then come back charge them more just for being completely stupids.

Oftentimes, clients can't appreciate how difficult the given task is: For them, it's "just paid ads, so we could've figured it out ourselves", but for you, it's proper analysis, A/B testing, research, and so on. You can try and explain that to them -- maybe they'll understand that it's not so simple.

Be appreciated is nice but in the end are you happy with what they are paying you? Can you get better rates elsewhere? If so, raise your rates.

Well known "trick".

Once clients are happy and they know what's going on and they KNOW "how to do it", they start doing that old dirty trick.
Dropping words like that "Well paid ads is not a big deal, we could have figured it out as well".

In that case, you should let them go and see how they do on their own.
It's a tricky thing to do, especially if you don't have enough clients, or they are the only ones you have.

But in most cases, they come back because they don't know what you know.

Anyway, if you are happy with what you are getting, sometimes you just need to accept the ride and keep going.
