Is the appstore still worth it in 2020?

I've been developing for a number of years now, and i'm looking to get into some sideprojects to bring in extra income this year- is the app store still as saturated as they say? What other blackhat projects are making money in 2020?

The AppStore made like 50 billion combined last year, and it still makes more money that googles play store despite the latter having way more users. I'd say it's a healthy industry if you market your product correctly. There was a user here that owned one and was doing fine. I think he is from northern Europe.
