Is that normal ranking process?

Hello,

I began two days ago a new amazon affiliate journey, so I set up a wordpress site, looked for long tail keyword with no to very low competition and began to write my blog post.

Everything goes well, on the first day where i published two articles, two of them rank straight away (like in 10 mn) in position 3 and position 8 on 1st page of google.

Pretty happy, i began to write new article and when i checked back the ranking, the day after the two 1st page KW, dropped to page 4 or 5...

Do you think it is a normal dance? only thing i changed, is creating a page to silo the blog post by family. I don't think it has any effect but---??

This might be a google dance. Since this is a new site, you can for wait for another few days to get a firm knowledge of what is happening.

I hope it will at least get back to the same level of ranking...During this time i will continue adding more content, and wait for traffic to settle before adding affiliate links
 
As normal as Google. You can find countless threads about this here on BHW.
 
Adding fresh contents will always help. Wait for the keywords to settle. Hope it will be back to the first page. Good luck.

Well at least I know that first page is not unrankable...so in case it settles page 2, I might have to create some web 2.0 so help them a bit
 
Creating web 2.0s will definitely help but you just have to aware of what your competitors using to rank them on the first page.

You need to act smart and keep building quality links to outrank them.
 
Check your on-site optimization of the site.
 
If you can create so good content - then build strong links to sustain your rankings. Check the marketplace here or the giveaway section :)
 
Ok, I maybe get a beginning of explanation ...

Before the massive drop, i created few hours ago, a page using the broad KW targeted, and in this pages where displayed the blog post about this KW like : "the best xxxx", "where to buy xxx"
Which made this blog post appearing on the home page AND in the KW page...

I deleted this new page, and the targeted long tails climbed up back almost immediatly...not yet at their first levels, but at least back closer to page 1

Did you ever had something like that?
