I am an indian and our national language is Hindi.
There are lots of news websites which provide epaper online.like punjab kesari in hindi.
If i write those news in english and publish it in my Blog.
Is there any harm in it?
Also mention whether is it necessary to give credit or source ?

I think this is 100 legit especially if you write it in your own words and not just translate it.
In that case you basically have just made brand new content based on source where from you have read it...

IMHO this is legit... + for fair usage you can just mention what is original source if you want to...
 
i have a blog where all articles are just translated articles :)

I can't speak to the legality of it in your local jurisdiction.

However, from a moral/ethical point-of-view, I feel that you're adding a service. A very valuable one. So no, I don't think it's stealing at all.
 
Been using this trick for a while now.. Find good content in your native language -> copy paste in translator and edit it until you've got a perfect english article. I poop out 5 or 6 500 word articles a day in less than an hour with this method
Only downside is that (at least in my case) in certain niches not all languages have much to offer in terms of quanity
 
Works fine - for now - and that's the best you can say about anything in SEO and IM be it white hat, black hat, blue hat or arse hat

Depends on your local laws. In America this would be illegal and carry a potential jail sentence. Do your due diligence and ensure that you aren't tramping onto anything illegal.
 
If you give credit to the source and offer a link back this is called syndication and is acceptable.
 
Why wouldn't you? You're providing a service to the peoples that can't read on those languages so giving credit to the original source will give more credibility to your content.

Not illegal in the criminal sense. There is the tiniest (absolutely miniscule) chance of someone taking civil action, but even that - as translation is not perfect and no news is truly "unique" so nothing would likely happen anyway. you have what they call "plausible deniability". You could always just say you paid someone to write it or you..

Not illegal in a criminal manner, and in fact this is how many national news agencies operate. Google is very cool with this. Once an article is translated it is no longer in its native format and it is not a violation of international copyright law.
 
OP, if I were you I'll add a disclaimer "some of the content is used/copied from source" in those posts or at least somewhere on my blog.
 
I guess you should not worry about copy issue. By the way, your content needs to be easily readable. When you use a translator, it does not create grammatically correct sentences and then you'll be spending much time correcting your articles.
 
1) since its News -- you dont own it... Actually no one owns it -- its like PR's -- so you actually will see same news everywhere

2) If you are just using a translator then its content taken from another site .. If you are rewriting then you can do anything...
