Its most probably the best article spinner out there. Heard a lot about it. Tried it myself few times too and its really good.
But I bet you can find some good free spinners as well, but they have limited features as compared to TBS, and that's obvious, they are free.
A nice one is SpinnerChief, which has both free and paid versions.
But a spinner better than TBS, well, don't think so, as least not at this point of time.
It was a great product, still is but the owner isn't able to remove the bugs and more importantly, he isn't too good at listening to all the complaints. Don't forget that the actual soul of the program, the fantastic data, is being constantly contributed by the customers. So the customers are the actual Gods that he shouldn't displease.
I'll admit that the basic idea behind the program is very good but the owner has too much (childish) enthusiasm, is making some huge mistakes and ruining the great software. If he removes the bugs from the software, all his customers will love him more. A update is usually a very dreaded moment for many customers -- there is only the more buggier update and the somehow-somewhat working recent version is lost due to a compulsory auto-update policy... Also, sometimes(!!) he doesn't like to leave a customer's negative report or remark on his threads.
If my criticism makes things better then I would be the happiest one (critic/customer) around!

It's a great tool!! If you buy it atleast, I have the hacked versions, so it sucks a little
Check out SpinChimp. Hell of a lot less buggy and is super quick. Also LOTS cheaper
