I just started with adwords yesterday, have a $50 voucher.

I was wondering if when adding keywords that I want to get traffic from for my blog, if adding lots of low searched, $0.10 or less per click keywords would be better than adding mid quality keywords that cost like $0.50/click.

I know most would not want to give away how they get massive traffic for cheap but I thought that I would ask and hope for the best.

If you're just adding random keywords it's of no use as people will just bounce off.

The trick is finding affordable keywords that'll convert well for you.

Scoring good Quality score is a thing

a good keyword research is half work done

You want relevant keywords. Doesn't matter if they are low searched. The idea is to get quality traffic which means quality keywords. Otherwise, it's just wasted.

Cost per click should also not be a huge concern if your page converts and is profitable at that cost. Of course you want to lower your costs as much as possible and/or increase your conversion rate. But if you leave the $0.50 CPC keywords on the table, you will not make any sales on them.

If you are getting those CPC numbers from the keyword tool, remember that this is for the top positions and for an average QS. If your QS is higher, the CPC will go down. And you are under no obligation to bid to get the top positions, although that's usually where you want to be since that's where you maximize traffic and sales.

low searched keywords are not worthless I guess it is better if you add both types of keywords.

How is the QS determined?

The highest I can get it is at 7, most are 5.

Read my Adwords FAQ for details. But in short, QS is mostly CTR and is a measure of how far away from the mean your CTR is compared to other advertisers for that keyword taking into account positioning.
