Is SSL my real issue?

So I was really down about how low my conversion rates have been since I've started which is 0 despite sending a decent amount of traffic. I'm in the adult niche and haven't been doing this for very long (roughly two months) using Crakrevenue - 400 clicks, Chaturbate - 300 clicks, and Adult friend finder - 100 clicks roughly and not a single signup. I had gotten an ssl certificate early on after reading some of the seo benefits (without knowing the full implications) and figured that my traffic just completely sucked. Reading more into the issue though, it seems like sending from https to http will count as a direct visit and NOT a referral visit...

I've built a decent amount of backlinks, some of which I don't have much control over with https which couldn't send to http if I reverted. I can't find much information on this subject either so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

What a waste...
