I got a emd by chance yesterday so I looked for a godaddy coupon site and got a coupon there, typed name in godaddy, yes available, but i didn't continue for some reason. After 1 hour I tried register again, and it was taken by someone, coincidence? maybe or not, though it isnt in a hot niche, what tool i use:
a bulk domainname inquiry site
a godaddy affiliate blog for getting coupon
maybe a whois site.

so if you guys have met this issue before and how to prevent it?

Check the WhoIs - I'm 90% sure it's GoDaddy that registered it though!

Godaddy has been shady as fuck for a long time. What they do is register the domain you were looking at and then try to sell it to you at a premium price.. Fucked up if you ask me, but that is business.

Yes, unfortunately GoDuddy is famous for steeling domains out from under you if you search for it with their site and do not purchase quickly. If you must purchase with them, do all of your research on another site and then when you are sure you are going to purchase, do it quickly without hesitation.

Yup thats those elephantkillers alright...

Could be what is called whois hijacking, in which if there deems to be any value to the domain you are looking up, it will be registered from right under you.

Be sure to use a reputable whois lookup. I would say large registrars but who knows these days :)

I saw the registration whois by a guy owned a poor looking crap blog(through his reg email), so maybe it was not the godaddy's fault? but i don't know how the dude did this, man it is a 10K local search 1cpc keyword, depressive experience

I am pretty sure it is GoDaddy. Buy domains from namecheap, they are awesome.
