is spam tier2/3 still working ? [2017]

do you see anything positive from spamming tier1 links? If so what kind of links is recommended.

If you manage to index these tiered links do they give any decent ranking boost?

Some time ago I make some lower quality tier2 links to test websites, and they drawn like rock in water after that.

here im using tier2-3 low qualityblasts for last half a year and no penalties at all.

problem is that (at least here) these links are weak.. id compare 10 000 links contextual gsa blast (or actually bigger ammount but whatever) to one well picked expired web 2.0.

comments etc in gsa are stronger than contextual but more risky

Spam links can still work, but not as effectively as 6 years ago.

Yes. It still in good working. The levels usually follow a tiered structure- like that of a pyramid. Tier 1 usually consists of a low number of web properties, Tier 2 can be a few dozen, and Tier 3 is often in the thousands.

Ok so this morning while I should have been catching up with the marketplace/reports I was very bad and got side tracked for 5 mins...

We had a forum spammer leave this URL which was quickly removed:

I don't feel bad about "outing" them as they spammed our forum... Please don't cry about that.

If you run the site through Majestic you can see the kind of scale of their link building. They are hitting it kind of hard:



100k links since mid-April, it's not that highly spammed but clearly they are playing the game here.



Running it through SEMRush (so the data is a little hit and miss) they are ranking for some terms, nothing ground breaking... but you can see their spam is working (boost muscle from #52 to #6, buy viatropin #11 to #6, testoboost free trial #7 to #2) and their site is also very poor and has a page not found error for a home page. With a better site and more content I bet they would see way better results, but putting that kind of effort into a spammy site might not be economical.

And this is with Tier 1 spammed links... If Tier 1 spammed links are working then of course Tier 2/3 is also going to work.

Most of the spammed sites I see are "satellite" sites which the spammers just blast as hard as they can and then this domain links back to the main website where the "real" offer is. Next time I come across some of these I will try and add to this thread so you can see what they are doing... If they are going to spam us I have no issues sharing their tactics, URLs, keywords or anything else.

I imagine this low(er) effort method works well for them or they wouldn't keep doing it...

Edit: if you're looking for more sites that are actively working with spammy links like this and ranking just dig through the results for "buy viagra online" and similar pharma terms... If you're a whitehat it will probably make you cry, for everyone else look at what they do. It still works...

agreed. regardless of the fact his domain wasnt banned, theres difference in spam vs spam. All depends how you set GSA (or other massive spamming tool) Blog comments and other "alive" places will have some influence, as some of these domains are not dead yet and still have traffic and even metrics. that kind of spam will probably works quicker than choosing dead domains that have 0 traffic to bulk post articles to.

lemme beat that with ahrefs. i too get cranky now, when people dont use the #1 crawler..

400 kws ranking top 50 with 900RD. cool.. with that high RD; I bet there is not a single PBN behind it



also no need for pricey semrush, when you cna get "allinone"

dont be to excited.
the money spend for:

massive quality proxies
software costs
accounts/emails, etc.
lists.
and so on.
to get some of that crap sticking will be high.
vps
and other shit .
you still have 90% link rot in a quarter of year. so you will have to blast daily.
dam.

time to spend to get those tools runing..
or outsourcing the shit..
I'd rather setup my PBN like the "COC hack" dudes do.

there are still a lot of premium websites yet to be automated




also gsa is good on tier 3 to make sure your T2 and T1 (for example microsoft profiles which are ultra hard to index) get indexed nicely

They don't let me play with Ahrefs at work... Might need to change that

Always test it yourself, it's not expensive nor time-consuming.
But, for anything long term I would stay away from GSA or any automation, that's what latest Penguin targeted and cleaned up pretty well

The answer to your question is yes and no.

Yes, if you're in it for short time and want to rank and bank using spamming tactics for awhile. After a while this tactic is bound to fail.

No, if you're a serious marketer that is putting in serious dough to make his website rank and considers it to be a real business I would not recommend spamming.

There's hundreds of domains like this. Spammed with blog comments, some sape, some GSA and TONS of PBNs. Just google random health supplement and top 10 will be entirely sites like these. They rank for new products with 500 word inner pages straight on top. These CPA sites pull unbelievable money every day.

It`s something that always bugged me. On one hand, I usually keep things steady, grow gradually, build smart links and wait months for results. On the other, from time to time I see a churn and burn project working for a little longer than I`d expect so I test some crap. Turns out, 1 year in, and a ONE PAGE website I built still ranks decently for an affiliate product. I won't get too much into details about the links that were built, but nothing fancy or impossible to replicate by a monkey with 3 fingers.
