Is someting wrong with my YouTube Earnings?

Hello to everyone!

I recently started a new channel 14 days ago and started to make videos.

So far, I have got like 30,164 views. And the earnings I made was a mere $0.77. Is this normal? I have monetized my videos from day 1 (The moment I uploaded them)

At this rate, I would only be making about $2.5 per 100K views. Not sure if this is what a channel normally makes. Would really appreciate inputs from experienced YouTubers with Adsense enabled on their channel.

Or would be there be a delay in adding earnings to my account considering it's a new channel? And btw, up until last week, my total views were only 1000. Only in the past week, I got like 29000+ views.

After how many days YouTube add your earnings to the account? I'm confused my views of 30000+ correctly reflect on my account but the earnings are so ridiculously low.

which country are your visitors from ?Your watchtime is horrible low.Do you got very short clips ?

0.50 to $2 per 1000 views. In january it's closer to 50c

I have like 7 videos on my channel but almost 97% of the the total 30,164 views came from just one single video and that video is of length 1 Minute and 9 Seconds.

There's more to earnings than just number of views. There is a sophisticated internal vetting algorithm used to give more or less value to certain visitors.

I make average $3.85 per 1000 views.

It depends on video content and who watches and if the people watching are worth anything to advertisers.

2 issues.

1.Short clip.Best duration is 10+min so you can place more than just 1 ad.
2.Your viewers are basicly from countries where ads are not being paid well

Could you please throw some insight on a few examples as to what type of video contents generally generate money with ads and with what type of people.

I'm an absolute beginner with YouTube, so any insight would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance!

I see. I'm still trying to understand this whole YouTube thing. Many thanks for addressing the issues. Any tips as to which countries pay well on ads and how to target those countries?

You have shit watch time and shit countries. It's normal

Lol bro i also get views from this country . 1 million views only made like $348.21 then 30 percent youtube network cute ....

Not good at all! I'm getting $80/month with 80k. Not to mention my 60/40 split contract.

With the country that you are receiving views I think its okay. You should create content that could attract views from top tier countries.

Thank you very much socialmediapro. It really helps. But I really think that irrespective of the target countries, a mere Earning of $0.77 for an artist even after 30,164 views is a Let Down. Looks like, we couldn't survive or even close to make a decent "spare-time"(not even a part time) income with YouTube even after a BILLION views after cutting our production costs and YouTube Cuts (55-45).

I'm still not giving up and sincerely hoping for inputs from some more senior YouTubers such as you. Thanks a ton for all.

I really enjoy reading this forum and I hope I could get some tips as to how best I can take it to the next level, moving forward.

1) Many ad campaigns ended at the end of the year, so in January there are less companies that advertise now (could be also the reason why the CPC is so low [less completion = bad click prices]). I guess YouTube is giving the ads to the already established channels first instead to a 14 days old channel.
2) Video ads (especially the pre roll ads) bringing most clicks. For a short video the probability is much smaller that they place a pre roll ad instead of longer videos.
3) Your channel is new and YouTube has to categorize your channel/content first to find the right ads. Your audience comes from Saudi arabia, india etc. and it could be that no company like to advertise for this audience (remember: even top tier countries have a low CPC this time - so if less companies target on top tier audience, it's unlikely that a company target on people from saudi arabia etc. With their ads)
4) Maybe it looks strange for YouTube that your video was 14 days live until the views suddenly increased + your audience + maybe less interaction (shares, likes, comments etc.) So maybe they hold back the ads because they guessing fake views


This was just my personal opinion. I think nobody is able to give you the right answer. You should also look at your Adsense account (how's the ratio between views and impressions [is it bad then there are less ads in your video] how's the ratio between impressions and clicks [is it bad, then they're showing the "wrong" ads in your video - more banner ads instead of video ads] etc.)
