Is Social Media Growth Slower Than Before?

Hello.
I feel the same.
In my opinion, this is due to the fact that there are more and more content creators.

Hey everyone,
Do you feel social media growth is slower now compared to previous years, or just more competitive?
Would like to hear opinions.
I think social media growth feels slower mainly because the space is much more competitive now. With so many creators and brands, standing out requires more strategy and consistency. Would love to hear what others think!

Growth feels slower mainly because competition is higher, but consistent value-driven content can still achieve strong results.

Social media growth isn’t slowing down—it’s just getting more competitive. With so many creators, it might feel harder, but quality content still wins. If you focus on delivering real value, growth will follow.

It's pretty slow at the moment but if you invest your time and resources well it's definitely possible.

The only reason is that you are competing with so many creators now.

It is not an illusion to feel that the growth of social media has slowed down. Behind this, it is indeed the result of the combined effect of user growth approaching saturation, intensified platform competition, and structural changes in the entire ecosystem.

Everyone’s a creator now. Way more accounts, brands, and AI content fighting for the same attention.
Algorithms are stricter. Platforms push content that keeps people watching longer, not just what’s posted often.

I think growth feels slower mainly because competition is higher and platforms keep tightening algorithms. There’s still opportunity, but you need stronger content and better engagement strategies now compared to a few years ago. Organic reach isn’t as easy as it used to be.

Every year, I notice that competition is getting tougher and it's becoming more difficult to work. Three years ago, it was possible to achieve results that were significantly better than they are now.

It definitely feels slower because algorithms are much more selective now, making high-quality engagement more important than ever.

I think the same as others competition is the key and people demand quality. At this point there are a lot of tools to create quality content so the barrier is lower as well. With high quality content an amazing hook and a banger video you are ready. On top of that AI is playing a big role now. I have seen a lot of big creators especially case study and video creators using AI extensively.

Growth feels slower mainly because competition is higher, but consistent, valuable content still grows steadily over time.

I think people are just tired of so much content, especially when there’s a lot of repetitive stuff. So even if something interesting exists, it’s hard to notice
