Is social media finally dead?

Radio provides something of value though. No one gets angry when someone turns on the radio.

BS.
Social media can provide something of value (just look at youtube).
Before was "radio will die" when TV came out than "TV will die" when Youtube came out.
And we still have newspapers because these arguments are just BS.

With everything going on with FB today, FB purging cash and Zuck going off the deep end - is FB dead? Does that mean social media is dying? Interested to hear some thoughts.
What do you mean by zuck going off the deep end?

Social media isn't dead, but relying on Facebook and Twitter right now is a bit like relying on Myspace. They're old media that no one really likes anymore. Do some research on new social media platforms if you want to expand your reach.

You mean, like Quora?

Social media as we all know it nowadays sucks. It's not dead but I wish it was. Do you remember the days back in 2011 when you got home from school and the first thing you did was posting a new status on fb? All of my friends were posting every little thing they did that day and if you didn't have a fb acc you was uncool.

Look nowadays you see bearly any posts from your friends on fb. Zuck turned fb to a marketplace and it has nothing to do with social anymore. The platform is for making money and not for helping people to connect with each other. And I dont want to talk about the security shit that happened many times..

FB isn't dead. The traffic is still there. The problem is FB wants an arm and a leg for their traffic.

The river of suckers paying for NEGATIVE ROI will quickly run out and only the PROS will be left

Pros keep the prices high to stave off newb competition

Pay to play?
You are right and wrong in the same time
What should newbie do to become pro in FB ads? How can I create new BM when I`m not able to create new account and make it legit

P.S. FB traffic is probably on of the best

Quora is old, too. You want social media that has been around 3 or 4 years or less to be on the cutting edge. The only older social media platforms still worth the work are Pinterest and maybe Instagram in my opinion.

Give Facebook time and you won't need to use Google anymore.

No. Facebook tried their hand at a "social search engine" but failed miserably. They are big but not big enough to actually put a dent in Google's search user base.

Facebook of course isn't dying but it soon will be a shadow of its former self if Zuckerberg lets his greed for money consume him. Fool has already killed a lot of big content creators on his platform that were engaging his users for free.

Social media isn't going nowhere. It will somehow change overtime but never going to die.
NEVER

I think 'social networks' will decline over the next decade, and replaced with apps that allow you to become 'social'. Group chats will increase and become more popular.

Social is really just beginning.

I think it’s going to be more niche specific—Not as general as Facebook though.

Eventually it’s going to be all virtual reality though.
