Is social bookmarking losing its clout

Ok - As per the thread title - I am an avid social bookmarker as a way of building links. Real easy with seNUKE to do (to easy now with auto captcha breaking feature)

The thing is - I am thinkin the Social bookmark sites are actually becoming worthless in terms of assisting with backlinking as a method of gaining rising serps - anyone here noticing the same -it seems that, on test domains - whether they get bookmarked or not makes NO diff. to the serps

i use social bookmarking only to get my pages indexed , use some serious link building methods like web2.0 , buying links to improve rankings , social bookmarking links are of veyr low quality

I only use them for indexing purposes and direct traffic. Then again, I don't have SENuke nor have I experienced its effects. I have a great domain you could test your thesis on if you wanted to submit it places though and have results sent to you

Personally I love social bookmarks. But then, I also love the fact that most of my competition doesn't seem to know how to SEO its way out of a paper bag

IOW how well it works depends on what your competition is doing.
