Well dont forget search engines was build with seo as main focus so seo will not die so easy .I will say competitive yea but not dead

SEO is already half dead... in some cases dead completely. You can't win with more ads and feature snippets everywhere. Google doesn't want you to leave google. It becomes information platform on its own.
