I believe AI is the cause of your perceived slowdown. The industry is changing. Most people pick their search answers from AI replies now, so its definitely a disincentive to seo. However, as I have always posited, AI is taken jobs and creating new jobs. You just need to reinvent your service around it. if for instance you could create and AI agent to mass produce valid links that work, i am sure you will be overwhelmed with clients.

And people know how to do it. It's not rocket science. All it takes is basics of coding. There are more tutorials than you can count
