Is SEO dead in 2025?

Yes, it's dead. And I can tell you it will be dead in 2026 too, so don't open another thread next year. Let's just celebrate yearly death anniversaries.

No, but quality stuff has been saturated, meaning, only the best of the best will survive.

SEO will still exist, but it's changing. Online marketplaces like Amazon, Shopee, and TikTok Shop are dominating shopping behavior. However, SEO isn't disappearing, it's shifting towards new trends.

You're late by a few years. It died a miserable death a decade back. lol

SEO changes, as it changed for the past year. Will never "die". It will evolve, customers habits evolve, platforms evolve, but "SEO itself" never die. Also remember that is NOT Google. SEO is the discipline of improving ranking on search engines. Search engines may change, maybe not anymore what we intent today, but SEO will never change.

I don't think so, but I see that every year someone makes this thread, so, I'd like to be the honored one to ask that in 2025. Please, continue this discussion this year too.

It's a never ending topic to discuss. However, my simple answer is SEO never get dead but it should be evaluate based on trends and technology .

Haha, good question! I think "dead" is a strong word. More like, it's constantly evolving and getting harder. SEO isn't going to disappear, but the tactics that worked five years ago are probably ancient history now. So, not dead, but definitely needs to be approached smarter than ever in 2025! Gotta keep up with those search engine robots!

No, I think SEO isn’t dead, but it is changing. Valuable content can still succeed. The key is to adapt.

SEO is not yet dead in 2025, only the algorithm is changing daily. We have to adapt to the new market trends and use SEO effectively. adaptation is very important in digital marketing and Search engine optimization.

Yea, it's been dead for the past 10 years according to SEO ''experts''

As long as the internet still exists, so will SEO. The only thing that changes is the strategies for it.

SEO has been killed so many times.
Still pretty alive.

It's dead, if you are still making it for some strange reason, don't worry they will eventually penalize you and boost their favorite Redshit and quorshit.

In 2025, this question feels different than it did in 2024, 2023, or earlier. SEO isn’t dead, but it might be on its way there. I work closely with major companies in the SEO tooling industry, and there are clear signals that they’re paying attention to our changing search habits. With tools like Perplexity.ai, ChatGPT, and other LLMs transforming how we find information, Google and Bing are integrating AI-driven search chats. I believe we're moving toward a future where the traditional SERP—with its familiar list of 10 results—no longer exists. Instead, AI agents will handle tasks like booking flights, reserving hotels, and buying groceries, reducing our reliance on conventional search engines.

SEO might not be SEO anymore—maybe it’s going to be AO (Agent Optimization) or AIO. I guess we'll see.

Here we go again, I believe SEO is being killed so many times that is fighting against krillin for the most killed every year :D :D

That is the dumbest saying ever, I know it isn't you posting it and you're just bringing up conversation. But as long as Google is alive, seo is alive. Or the internet for that matter lol

Yes it is. Will be reincarnated in 2026
