Currently I'm using a version of ubuntu called Ubuntu Studio, and it seems very unstable with my Dell Inspirion 15 7548. Every so often(It seems no more than 4 hours of being on) I have to reboot my laptop cause the mouse starts to ghost move and ghost click for no reason. Will switching to a linux geared towards enterprise users provide better stability so I don't need to use an external mouse, or I just need to eventually get a better laptop with superior touchpad.
Any version of Linux you use will have some problem or the other. Like Windows, the problem will, more often than not, be a conflict with the video driver - even when it manifests in something that is not video (such as your mouse). Most that are adept with Linux, versus those that use Linux because it is not Windows, will download the headers and the source code and compile the drivers for their particular system thereby eliminating many problems. You have not provided any of the basic information that a person would need to determine if you have a hardware problem but are asking about a more stable version of Linux. Such common commands that would provide information before you assert that a distro is unstable would be commands like: Code: lscpu lshw hwinfo lspci lsscsi lsusb inxi lsblk Linux is not a plug and play OS. Even the friendliest versions, such as Ubuntu, may exhibit problems on some hardware, and the problem may actually be an incompatible piece of hardware rather than any defect. It is my assertion that you are looking at the wrong problem to solve, and that you are wearing a blindfold while attempting to solve the problem.

I upgraded to 4.7 kernal from 4.4 and that seems to make things better. Before I was also getting error messages when I turned on my pc and now those are gone as well.
I still have the issues, its probably just my laptop being a crappy netbook having a terrible touchpad. I'll just use an external mouse until I can get a good laptop and research what I need for it to prevent the ghost issues.
