Is requesting to raise seller limit risky?

So i've got two accounts
1) below standard
2) above standard sell 100 items at $5000

I am wanting to call them to have the 2nd above standard account raised, are there any risks? I gone through the threads here and some people say its a very tedious process? Some end up getting banned and stuff.

If you are running stealth accounts, not a good idea to call in
 
I use there live chat to increase my selling limit and I have an item that could be taken down if they wanted to but never do, it depends what your selling or your account. They wont increase your limits if it hasn't been 30 days since your last lift anyway. Plus, they look at your account and lift it themselves after 30 days without havibg to ask.
 
Extremely risky, especially on an older account. If those two accounts are related (you used the same info or something), then you'd risk both getting suspended at the same time if you call. Only you can decide whether it's worth it or not.

A much safer alternative is to just make (more) stealth accounts. You would effectively increase your selling limits by having many accounts.

I should clear things up, they are not stealth accounts, i don't know about other countries but the policy in Australia actually allows you to have more than one account. So if i call they won't make my main good account down to below standard as well or something like that right? I don't want to mess up my good account.

I didn't know you could use live chat, i am selling USB sticks.
What do you mean by last lift? If you mean selling limit, i never had it raised before only drop down unfortunately.
I have been trading with the main account for more than 5 years and they never lifted for me or anything like that.

If there not stealth accounts and you are allowed two accounts then you have nothing to worry about. They wont change your account down to below standard just because your other account is (I doubt they look at that anyway).

But ye call them or use live chat and they should raise your limit
 
I also have two accounts as well actually and im not sure im supposed to but they never said anything
 
Alright i've wanted to raise my limit for a while now but never did because i was hesitating due to seeing all the bad experiences reading the threads here, i guess i'll try the live chat and post back what happens.
 
I would just wait it out if your selling over your limit on standard account they will eventuality raise that account limit soon.
 
never call them if they don't call you, one of my account is restricted after I called them to increase selling limit
 
Never call is always good advice, however, calling doesn't always hurt if you are confident on the phone and have some common sense. If you contact them, there is less reason to be suspicious - calling for limit raises can go south pretty quickly though so bare that in mind before caling.
 
I agree, I wouldn't call in either. I tried once and my account got limited.
