So I think everyone knows wallstreetbets, I can’t help but always imagine these huge pumps (like BBBY) that happen every few months are planned.

like, some team/s have a bunch of accounts, they plan hundreds of threads all with hundreds of comments conversations etc, and spread it over a few weeks to create massive hype on a stock

That could happen

Very much possible, such big sites can always be abused if not moderated well.

You are little late to the party.

It’s obvious the whole point is pump&dump I’m not talking about that, my question is do you think it’s organized as in they make campaigns to start a pump or just let it naturally form?

Its not organized, big fire start from small spark. I am not good with English but I hope you understand. If you are smart enough and got a credible account to post on wallstreetbets, even you can do it. Just my personal opinion.

By definition, Pump and Dump is not something that happens spontaneously. Someone planned it and earned a lot from doing it if it happened.

But do you know how many of these accounts are actually real and not bots? I mean, this whole stuff is nothing new. You give your post/video/whatever an initial boost with comments/views/likes/etc. using bots and then you get organic traffic and it reaches its own dynamic. But if you know the outcome and you still do it, then isn't it organized?

This F***ING Wallstreetbets thread is all over.

I don't know how they are always in the popular content on reddit.

That gamestop event made this community really popular.

Sometimes they are able to do it. Few days ago NFLX and PYPL were on their radar for their new policies.

Platforms such as Reddit, etc have a legal protection against being sued for the posts of their users. A platform user may perhaps be sued in certain cases, by another user of the platform in cases of cheating or scamming or pump, pimp, hump, dump, etc.

Accounts not connected to you in any way, have 2,000 of these and create posts with whole conversations, build 100-150 posts then run a campaign

It definitely could happen, even if a pump has a profit of say $10,000 or $20,000, that's a lowish amounth but for a months worth of - creating conversations, accounts, hype across multiple subreddits every day. etc. It's definitely worth it.
