As the title suggests, is it worth.

It depends on what type of search query it is. If it is related to images, then it would be good because when a user see your image in search, he could go on your site to see some more images of same type.

For other searches, not that much. If I am looking for payday loans, I would not be interested in an image.

If it's recipes for example, people will definitely click your site with good pictures of good food. Options trading? Not so much.

Would the picture make someone want to click given the picture in combo with the content?

Yes, it is. Of course, you should make a SEO properly for this. I don't know what your niche is, but for recipes for example, it usually works very well for me, better than regular search results.

I think For Fashion Related Niches this will work like a charm.
