I've experimented with both while promoting content for my website, and honestly they've behaved very differently.
Reddit definitely has a much larger user base and, if a post takes off, the traffic can be incredible. The downside is that many subreddits have very strict self-promotion rules. Even when I shared genuinely helpful content, some of my posts or comments were removed because moderators considered them promotional.
Quora, on the other hand, has been surprisingly effective for me. I write detailed answers that actually solve the person's question and, when it's relevant, I'll naturally reference a blog I've written. For example, I recently wrote a blog about keeping an RV clutter-free and improving storage organization. When someone asked about organizing their RV, I was able to mention some of the ideas from the article, including how making under-bed storage easier to access with a

If your budget is small, I'd also spend some time on organic Quora before paying for ads. Helpful answers can continue bringing visitors for months, whereas Reddit can be hit-or-miss depending on the subreddit and its moderation policies.
My experience has been:
- Reddit: Larger audience, but stricter moderation and a higher chance of posts being removed.
- Quora: Smaller audience, but easier to build long-term traffic by consistently answering questions with genuinely useful information.
If you're creating helpful content rather than just dropping links, Quora has given me more consistent results over time.
