Is push notification traffic safe for Adsense?

Greetings Everyone!

Everything is in the title : Is push notification traffic safe for Adsense?

What I mean is:
- User sees a notification on his phone
- He clicks on it and arrives on my landing page
- I put adsense ads on the landing page

Push notification traffic seems legit real traffic to me so I guess it should be fine with big G, however we never know with them.

Have you already tried this?

I don't think it matters how the user got on your page .. as long as it's human traffic and not bot.

Maybe I'm wrong tho ..

I have been using for adsense as well as MGID on some of my blogs and so far I have been able to cashout without traffic quality issue.

From my understanding (there is no official reply from Google) , as long as traffic arrive due to some form of pre selling and not tricked into visiting your site then they are fine with it. Also bearing in mind that Adsense only pay when ads are clicked. So whatever impression generated is of no importance to them.

Of course, I manage a big legit blog in my country and we always ping our subscribers via push notifications whenever a new post is out. But they are legit users. If you are purchasing traffic, you don’t really know, but they are supposed to be legit. But overall, yes should be very fine.

You say "not tricked into visiting your site" and it is exactly what I think can be a problem because I find these push notifications super tricky, I'm sure the vast majority of people doesn't understand where it is coming from but I guess that I need to pay attention on what I write on the message associated to the push notifications to get targeted traffic!

Many thanks for the information, then I will just go for it and see how it goes. Will it be fine for you if 100% of my traffic is coming from push notifications?

That is not what I mean. You can still use clickbait titles, this is what native ads are doing as well. There is a fine line between tricking and click baiting. Thread well on this.
What i mean is no direct traffic from software, pop, etc. This is absolutely not allowed.

Yup, from my experience. No issue at all as I am still getting paid out. I am assuming that pay out is the benchmark of measurement here.

Sure, I see what you mean, traffic needs to be pre-qualified (which is the case with push notifications). I will experiment to see where is the line between tricking and click baiting based also on the ROI.

Pay out is indeed what I'm looking for, perfect Did you notice a lot of invalid clicks from this traffic?

Nope, but ad clicks are very low. Usually there are very few ad clicks. I did not mingle around with the position of the ads in case Adsense decides to ban me because of it. However I will suggest that you monetize using multiple approaches.

Example, when traffic arrives at your blog, they will read the contents then they will see the adsense ads.
Maybe do a ninja popup after 1 min to encourage visitors to signup to get update or at least sign them up for your blog push notification (this is allowed under adsense terms of service). Then another pop up after 1 min encouraging them to share the content if they like it.

One important part is this, exit intent. Use exit intent script to study when the visitor decides to leave your blog, then do one last push to a CPA offer or push these exist traffic to a blackhat url for further monetization.
