I've heard from many sources that PPC is dead and that AdWords and other PPC companies have made it tougher for affiliate and internet marketers to create campaigns for their cpa and affiliate offers.

Can an experienced marketer please verify this. I was ready to plunge into PPC until I heard the news.

Thanks for any and all opinions

i am in a very privileged situation as i am running a fairly open PPC campaign for a gaming company almost exclusively.

I make 25-30% profit on adwords.

If that needed for your motivation, here it comes ;)

no, totally false. still one of the fastest ways to get traffic, and it still works..

when adwords and other companies make things tougher, you just need to change with the times and adapt. nothing ever really dies, you just need to find solutions to make things work again

Oh you mean Google (red army)? They even slapped Perry Marshall's adwords accounts, the guy was spending 700k p/m and Google didnt give a rats ass. So i can see that so many are fleeing from adwords and i wouldnt be surprised one bit. Thanks to Google that is.

Let me tell you that PPC is definitely not dead!

How do I know? Well, I am currently doing ppc advertising as well as other paid media and I can tell you that there is PLENTY of opportunity in paid advertising to make some great income.

As far as Google is concerned, you can still use them to drive an absolute ton of clicks for dirt cheap. I can set up a campaign and get 1,000's of leads/subscribers a day....but the key is in complying to their rules and not promoting stuff that Google frowns on.

But here is a list of paid traffic sources that I am using and I know works:

    1. Google
    2. MSN Adcenter
    3. Facebook Ads
    4. Plenty of Fish Ads
    5. Looksmart - must track at keyword level and traffic feed level
    6. 7 search - much track keywords and traffic feed, and use buyer keywords ONLY
    7. Ads DAQ
    8. Ads Brite

** Those are the paid traffic sources that I am currently using at the moment.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot for all your responses.

I think I will take a shot at PPC. Do you guys recommend any product I should invest in to head in the right direction?

How about lead generation. guys? I recently received an email from them stating that its my final warning and they will ban me if I won't comply to their LP guideliness.

    I'm about to launch a site that is purely built for list building. I have second thoughts of using adwords since they state that;

I think that one is stating that you aren't allowed to use a lead capture page in adwords. Hope someone can shed some light on this one./

I'll give thanks + rep for someone who can truthfully answer this.

If PPC was dead then costs would be drop dead LOW

and hence it would be so cheap it would be worth going back too....

but since this isnt the case...we can assume its as alive as ever.

PPC is far from dead, it is just not as easy as it is used to be.

Don't focus on Adwords. Try Bing and Yahoo. Also try 7Search, you
can find a few gems there. Most importantly, start with low budget,
track your keyword religiously, and remove non-converting keywords quickly.

As long as people use a mouse to click stuff,

PPC will never die on us.

How much are you spending per click with Facebook Ad. I use to think facebook is more expensive than Google adword because i spen 0.08 per click with Google Adword. So does it mean that one can get click with just 0.07cent from facebook ad. I was told to start with 0.8cent per click with facebook.
Please can anyone advice me on this.
