Does Facebook believe that its platform may lead to user addiction? What actions have they taken to address this issue?

You should have asked it five years back. It's an invalid question in 2023.

They worked hard to make it as addictive as possible. Why do you ask? BTW, what do you mean "playing" facebook? It's not a game.

In some local languages people do say playing Facebook, more often they not, they say playing cellphone.
If you look at people IRL that's what they are seems to be doing (instead of working).

Sure Facebook's platform is addicting - they code it to be addicting.

it's just a social site i don't think it's addictive.

FB is very addictive. I am addicted to the social networking site fb

I recommend you to watch
"The Social Dilemma" its a netflix documentary that will answer your question

For business, yes, it's more addictive. For news or social life, I always find it difficult to believe the news on the flatform.

Facebook has many advantages and disadvantages, if you know how to use it will help you a lot and vice versa if you use misuse it makes you addicted even more harm

i use to addicted to there app games years ago, but i fixed that.
i removed all my app games.

Facebook is made to be addictive, they rely on your own dopamine receptors, that's why people scroll for hours just to find a cool pic and then they get some dopamine, and vaste hours on social media
its same with slot machines, people play because there is a small chance they might win, and this cycle is extremely addictive

Most social media sites and even video games have behavioral psychologists working on it, and their only goal is to make them as addictive and as much of a time waster as possible.

We should not be addicted to things that bring economic benefits, but we should not be addicted to things that take away our health, because they are useless.

Of course, everything has good and bad clothes, and using Facebook a lot can be addictive, but if you spend time using Facebook to make money and run ads, it will be very useful. useless foundation, it will encounter many harms that you cannot foresee.

In the past used Facebook to be adictive scrolling in the feed but in 2023 TikTok replaced it.

Facebook is really successful in making this. I spend most of my time surfing the newsfeed even though I find that it doesn't have any new updated information.

If you use it without bringing any value, it is addiction.
If you use it to make money, no one can judge you
