I wonder if the people who access my site through pinterest are real or fake users.
The question is why?
I get traffic as soon as I pin some images to pinterest and for hours after that no one visits my site at least until I pin more photos.
What do you think about this issue ? Are pinterest fooling us about traffic

The "traffic" you get is merely Pinterest webcrawlers....just checking out if there is any substantive content on the link you added to your Pin. If there is your Pins will get indexed....if not they will be deposited on the mountain of pure spam Pins that Pinterest is now polluted with.

I am really new in this
I don't get many repins, How do I get more repins please help me with this
You need to have more followers to get repins or you can repin your pins using your child accounts to kick start. Theres a lot of tutorials and journey's about pinterest in this forum, just use the search option to explore more.

Anyone tried just to block link access of these crawlers, what is their ''opinion'':)? Or blocked access = no indexed pin.

FYI Pinterest isn't "cheating" you on traffic since you're not paying for anything. They don't owe you jack shit.

OP? Do you know what kind of law suit they would face if what you are accusing them is true?! They make to much money to steal your little traffic! It is like saying FB or IG steals your traffic!!!

umm... I don't think you understand how lawsuits work or even understand what the OP is saying... He's not accusing Pinterest of stealing his traffic. He is wondering if Pinterest is sending him fake traffic.

Their crawler bots are checking on his pins ok? That is not traffic!

OP, why don't you check your access log files? That way you can see IPs and user-agents for each visit.

the more you repin the better it is for you are since you are new, it is better you have enough image to pin so that it will increase the traffic and you have to be consistence

pinterest definitely seems to change their chit. i notice a lot less interaction with my account than i used to have

i remember accounts being way easier to find and now its even hard to find profile information

Since this old, misguided thread still appears on google searches when the subject comes up. Nothing would be more fair than to bring a proper perspective to it.

It is awfully naive to say that pinterest wont forge traffick because it would be illegal, when tech giants are no strange to criminal activity, most, are, in fact, always doing things that are still criminal or would be, it they werent in bed with the goverment (like facebook).

This sort of person must be the one that would trust when they say "we respect your privacy".

Not to mention things that are simply embarrassing lies, like when reddit claimed to have more users in the united states than the population of the united states.

Pinterest in particular is known to publish advertisements with phising links and fraudlent stores in general. It is also known that even when you specificy a particular country to advertise to (even if exclusively), they will send traffick from different locations to eat up your budget as fast as possible.

There were also complaints from those who linked their websites to pinterest, in which pinterest claimed that several of their sales were obtained through their ads, when in reality the clients were already long time clients, obtained through different means, and not at all related to the ads. Such thing will cause pinterest to look far more effective than it is when it speaks about cost/benefit.

It is not strange to think that most of the traffick from their ads comes from bots. Many claimed that the majority of their traffick from pinterest will display the behaviour of a bot.
