Is PayPal only enough as payment processor?

If you're from a country, where you can accept credit card payments with PayPal besides the PayPal payments, it can be enough, yes. If not, you might want to have an additional gateway, where people can pay via cc.
The pros and cons of PayPal is probably one of the most discussed subjects here. Look into it and draw the conclusions, because nothing really new can be said.

How do I check if I can accept credit card payments with PayPal besides the PayPal payments?
I've seen that one con of PayPal is that it can hold your money for no reason? Does that happen often in your knowledge? Is that why people look for other payment processors?
Thanks. If that's the case, why are people using Stripe or 2Checkout on top of Paypal in their stores?

Either they can't accept credit card payments with PayPal or other processors might charge less for cc payments. Or they think, that the fraud prevention is better with other processors.

do a test purchase. Go through to the payment screen where it asks you to login to PayPal. Under that box there should be something like pay with card

PayPal can freeze your money at some point for 180 days. Relying on them is super risky, since they don’t like dropshipping. From a sellers POV PayPal is the worst.
