Is ORM still producing money?

Hi guys, first post here after years of being a member. I read over 7878's method, as well as some other twists people have put on it. I am eager to get started, but I decided to create a site to be able to send customers to in conjunction with a mail campaign. As I got started, I had an idea. I'm a web programmer, first and foremost. And before I breathe life into this idea, I wanted to bounce it by you guys to see if it's still even in demand, or if I'd be wasting my time.

I'm looking at creating an entirely new review funnel service, not just piggy-back off an existing one and paying monthly fees for it. I'm a big fan of recurring revenue, and as I got started with the basic design, I started wondering if I should shift my focus away from local businesses and over to IMers who are looking to get started in ORM themselves. By changing my target market, this project could become an automated ORM tool for people here on BHW. The way I see it, this would be mutually beneficial: more recurring revenue for me, and a full-package, automated, customized ORM tool for IM affiliates who would just have to do the "ground work" of finding customers and landing sales. I'm thinking I'd charge a flat rate of $200 a transaction, and let the final price be customizable by the affiliates.

Then I searched through the forum some more to see if this had already been discussed. I seen it was a while back, with no update. So my questions are:

  1. Is ORM/review funneling still a profitable method and still in demand?
  2. Is this project something that sounds like it would be useful, or is it a waste of my time?

Thanks guys!
