Hey BHW,

I’ve been noticing more businesses struggle with negative reviews and outdated content damaging their reputation. Sometimes it seems like a bad review can hurt conversions more than losing a top keyword ranking.

I wanted to ask the community:

  • Do you see Online Reputation Management (ORM) becoming just as critical as SEO?
  • What methods have you used to successfully push down or replace negative results?
  • Are proactive strategies better, or do most businesses only fix reputation issues once it’s too late?

Curious to hear your experiences.

Cheers,

I think ORM is definitely becoming just as important as SEO now. A single negative review can hit conversions hard, so having positive, fresh content out there makes a big difference. Proactive reputation work usually pays off more than waiting until issues show up.

That’s a great point. I’ve also noticed that once a negative review shows up, it tends to stick for a long time unless fresh, positive content is actively pushed out. Proactive reputation building seems to not only prevent issues but also creates a stronger buffer against future problems.

Have you found any particular strategies work best for keeping that positive content visible over time?

We have a substantial increase in enquiries for reputation management and negative link removals this year, especially from major companies and well-known entrepreneurs globally. This trend shows how ORM is increasingly becoming important for many businesses since managing online reputation is often the deciding factor for trust and conversions.

Brands that invest early in ORM, with proactive strategies like customer reviews, positive content, and well optimized profiles, are seeing better protection and faster recovery than those relying only on traditional SEO.

Yes, Online Reputation Management (ORM) is becoming increasingly critical, but it requires a highly individualized approach. Each client’s situation is unique, so strategies and tactics must be carefully tailored to their specific needs.
