Using .org is not a problem. But I prefer .com; because that is where most people attention.

If you believe the name you found is so great and can't be substituted, then go for it, otherwise search for another good one with .com, it will be easier remembered by recurring visitors.

TLD does not matter when you are doing seo. It has more value in terms of branding and that is why everyone is going for.Com.
