Is not having kid a good decision?

Married for almost 1 years, now.

Planning to NEVER have a kid or adopt.
What will I be missing?

Anyone here, who opted for no kids? How is life treating you?

I know not the place to ask these questions but hey sharing your own experience won't hurt.

( I usually take decisions very quick and never look back most of the times but this isn't working with having or not having kids situation. )

I don't personally have kids but my personal trainer's wife just had a kid newborn and he was like on MDMA for 2 full weeks, so yes it is missing a lot in life by not having kids imo.

it's the best decision if you don't care about what society thinks about you and won't regret it in the future. But I always seen having kids is a bad investment, you do everything and return you get nothing, you spend your whole life and spend money, what you get in return. its best to save money for the future and enjoy, no responsibilities.

I see people having kids and don't have food to eat, I don't know why they have kids if they can't give a good life and good education.

If you took this decision and able to convince your wife, you are awseome brother. Dont listen to world just do what you like.

We're both IN on this. But definitely a big decision. Money and society isn't a concern at all..it's just I don't know. Don't want to have.. on edge, still thinking.
 
Personally for me, it would be the worst decision I would ever make, I'll love to see a clone of me, and watch my clone or kids become greater than me. It's not just about having kids, it is by having them and watch them do great things, so, you might wanna rethink your decision.

I know life isn't that black and white, but still, kids are great!
 
Picture yourself running around with your kid(s) and partner in the beaches of Andaman Island. You can't beat that only with money!! ;)

My life has totally changed after I became a father. I am muuuch more responsible now than I ever was. If anything, it has done positive things to my career. I am good at what I do, but I used to be a bit careless. After becoming a father, I am a lot more careful. Probably has to do with the fear of losing job/business? Not sure, but it helps.
 
Got two kids. 6 years apart in age.

We also lost during pregnancy but that's another story.

Wife is happy for 2, ideally id like to have a personal army of little minions but that's just me..

It's trying at times but it's worth it. I don't mind if people choose to have kids or not. I think the hardest bit for me was making my friend at the time not understand how much of a financial commitment it is to have a child and the time it takes up - he always had a go at me over it.. now he has two of his own he kind of understands it.

My wife and I both earn "good" money we are a 6 figure household BUT don't under estimate IF you do ever decide to have them how much they cost our first child was a real shock to the finances... But we knew what to expect going into the second so it's much easier.

Anyone here planning or in the process of having first child.. what ever money you put to one side it's not enough! Go out and buy as much nappies in different sizes and wet wipes now you can't have enough LOL...

My daughter is 11 and is a right grumpy shit at the moment we don't click as much BUT I think that's down to her body changing or so the wife tells me we still have fun and have a laugh but she is well touchy... My son who is 5 is a bloody nutter and I like it proper boy has fights and just like to do "boy" things.. BOTH are massive gamers which we like.

They are like sponges and suck up loads of information even when you aren't aware of it, it's 100% something to experience.

That said id have kids again if I had to start over.. BUT I think id have had them a bit later in life..

OP.. no one here is going to change your mind and you shouldn't change it based on anyones opinion I think if you are happy and the mrs is then keep doing what you doing... you kind of "know" I think if you want children.. our first was a "surprise" second was "planned" and was in a much better place / frame of mind and actually trying to have a second.. dunno its like a switch I think when you know you know I guess :)

BUT having no kids... MY GOD the amount of money id have in the bank.. lol
 
If you don't want to, and you're sure you don't, then just don't.

Overpopulation is already an issue :D

Plus, some parents who didn't really want kids end up mistreating them. That's the last thing you'd want. Of course, you know yourself and whether you'd be that type of parent

100% agreed about the money aspect of it. Put a home loan and a personal loan for home improvement on top of it, and you are left wondering where you spent your current month's earning lol. :p

Edit: Oh and nappy... It's like they eat them or something lmao!! I still count my kid's activity in NPH (nappy per hour). :eek:

Yeah neither of ours would "latch on" to the wife to take milk so ended up buying formula 2 tins a week £7 each soon adds up as an extra expense never thought we would have to buy it but there you go..

Id add as well to my previous post:

They have a wicked personally mind.. our son.. if he ends up being ruler of the world sometime in the next 20-30 years id not be surprised.

Yes, I'm just seeing what is the take of different people from different backgrounds. This replies are almost similar to my actual outside internet friends. About making decision -- I'm not sure, is what I would say and ofcourse my wife and I are still giving it a serious thought.

Collecting feedbacks will definitely give sense of what it's like, having or not having, kids :)

Same here. We also opted for formula as mother's milk was not enough for him. :)

I have heard this is a thing with sons more than daughters but I dunno. Mine is only 18 months old, and by his attitude he is like 18 years old . :p

Yeah my daughter was a pain as a baby she wanted formula and always had colic, so constant crying all the time.. I went to teach a martial arts class and my eyes felt like they where dragging on the floor and this experienced father came up to me and without knowing said:

"your kid has colic? forget class tonight go to shop buy SMA.. thanks me next lesson"

it seemed to be a heavier formula! That night best night sleep EVER!

Son we just put him on formula from day one, didn't even mess around.

As for him being some kind of evil ruler.. yeah few people told me the same thing about different boys being the same but I do think mine has it in him to be some kind of world ruler lol..

Actually it's opposite, living at great place with incredible surroundings and people.

Just introspecting my thoughts and trying to relate it to actual parents feedbacks. Ofcourse, I will make a smart move and might never regret my decision. I have a gift of YOLO for real, lol
 
And maybe if you lucky they are not a bad investment, maybe you got a bill gates or a ellon musk
