Is networking important for seo profesionals?

My personal view is that it would definitely help with back links etc if you have a good network around you. I find it hard to start and maintain these kinds of relationships online but it's something I will be putting more time and thought into as I think it is really important.

Nope, only money is important, you just need capital to rank a website.

Not really, if you have some common sense you can read stuff online and figure it out. It is only an absolute must for SEO gurus or people trying to make sales within the SEO community by claiming they have something different, whatever it may be.

With that being said, networking is good in any profession because when you meet people and share ideas you learn about what they are doing. Forums are sort of a network as well right? I learned everything from BHW, so if other people hadn't shared their experiences then it would be a really uphill battle to learn everything on my own.

I will also add that I never network, because there are always ways around it. I just hate networking. I like to meet people and hang out, but it has to happen organically, forced networking never works for me. If I don't want to talk to someone, and I feel like I have to then that's a shit way of life for me. I can never do it because I choose to do things that will not make me miserable.

So in other words, if you don't mind browsing forums and asking questions and doing a bit of research then you don't need networking or anyone's advice tbh. If you like talking to people and stuff then it may be a good fit for you. Everyone is different, you should figure out what you like to do and roll with it, regardless of what anyone says is or isn't important.

Networking matters, it's important to connect with people who are real practitioners and REALLY do what you do, share experiences with them, show each other's sites.

You can study SEO on forums, but it takes time, and every time you read someone's advice, you have to think about who this anonymous person is, what experience he has, can you trust him.

Not really but I think it allow us the opportunity to get access to those thing which we are unable to do at our own

networking is important for ANY niche, industry. First being a human and have soft skills like being a peoples person, then everything else. top seo expert may sell less just because he can't explain what he does properly. so yea networking matters but done in a right way, not just spamming on linking.

Focus on relationships that create networks. Not networking for the sake of it.

As a Newbie, you should be building relationships now that will create value in 2-3 years. A big mistake I see in networking is that people have an immediate "ask", which is more door-to-door sales.

But, a lot of that depends on what your goals are. If you're looking to sell professional SEO services to businesses, then start relationship building. If your a technical specialist, then you need to figure out what a "peer group" looks like for information and what that's worth.

Yes, long term thinking is very important for this.

Not a ranking factor…

Are you on glue?

Yes, it is important.
Why?
Because you get invited to private groups, mastermind sessions and meet real professionals. I was invited to a private get together in Barcelona last year and there were a couple of guys who do £1million+ month as agencies, plus several of the speakers at a conference there also attended.

Such events are for achievers. Beginners will not be entertained there. Am I correct?

I think you're missing the point.

If you're a Newbie, you have to start now with that goal. You just don't decide one day that you want to go, attend 1 networking event, and then go.

You need to start now to be able to go in year 3+

I think it's very important, it saves a lot of time and money. Sometimes what you can learn in person, you can never find elsewhere
