I have someone slandering my name on a forum ...and i need to have this page taken down from the search engines. Anytime someone searches for my name on google, they get this page where someone says false things about me and my address etc. And it's not safe. I have tried to get this page down through sending scrapebox links and this method doesn't work no matter how many times i do it. Does negative SEO not work anymore?? If it does, please help me figure out what to do. Thanks for your help.

Yes negative seo works but it depends on the site.
Meaining if this is from ripoffreport you would be doing more harm than good by building links ot the website.
if its a smaller website negative seo will work.

I got in same position at one time when some forum posts were coming above our client site and maligning their reputation.
How we solved it....
1. track down those keywords for which those posts were ranking.
2. Now develop some content specifically targetting only those keywords and highly seo optimized.
3. Go with basic seo strategies and bring your pages above those listings.
4. Many of you will think that it is going to be tough way.... but it is very simple as we are targeting only specific keywords and postions.
5. we are able to push those listings back to third page where hardly anybody will go and see those posts..

At some point negative seo works like a weapon... But depends on how competitive your industry is...

My companies are not targeting major competition at this time, more longtail and local results.
As well as I understand negative SEO is a reality of competitive business, I disagree with it for personal reasons.
After all, you could easily be playing the victim and use the information to knock a respectable company. That just doesn't feel good in my eyes.

Someone suggested on another thread to buy a fiverr gig and blast lol......... don't, there is another similar thread here and about this, authority sites behave differently when blasted regardless of the anchor and methods.It may work once in a blue moon, I'd prefer to use techniques that work most of the time. Look for other authority sites and pages just below and seo them with optimized anchored, varied but keyword rich. Proper neg seo needs some thought and planning when you're dealing with authority sites. Blasting can work on normal non authority websites , done properly. I'm not a fan of neg seo and anyone using it just because they are clueless about seo and want a competitor downed is a scumbag, it is that simple.
Anyway OP, in this instance , mickeyfu's advice is probably all you need , if the post genuinely has your address and other personal information on it it will be easy to have it removed, by law, in most countries you have some privacy protection and if they fail to removed it I would threaten legal action, indeed I would take it if they failed to remove it.

I tried Neg SEO once a very very big competitor, blasted a little more than a million sb links with exact same anchor in two or three days, never worked. Try other sources, not only sb links. I'll never do that again, I don't want bad karma on my back.

I've been in the same situation... We found that an employee of our company was involved in fraud and was basicly stealing money so we fired him right away.. Then he wrote a whole bunch of bullshit on a forum and when somebody looked up our company name the forum post was ranking in top 3. What we did was to contact the forum owner, explain the situation and he deleted the post right away. So as somebody else was saying simply try contactin the admin of the forum... It's illegal for somebody to disclose your personal information publcally so they will most likely take the post down.
Has this actually worked for anyone before??? Most sites and forums disallow this.
