Negative SEO still exists, but it’s not as effective as it used to be. Google’s a lot better at ignoring spammy backlinks and obvious attacks. That said, in super-competitive niches, tactics like fake reviews, DMCA abuse, or mass spam can still hurt if done right. Risky game though time/effort usually pays better if you just out-rank legit.
