Negative SEO still exists and is active in 2026. There are many cases where competitors spam toxic backlinks, causing serious damage. However, this is not a fair or sustainable strategy and should not be used to take down competitors.

I am new to SEO, but I think negative SEO still exists. I’d focus on monitoring backlinks, using Google Search Console, and disavowing spammy links to stay safe.
