is myspace still worth marketing to?

FB and Twitter along with Pinterest are more than enough to do marketing at. Why go to myspace?

Is it actually still open?

Why did it die? it was so popular once upon a time!

The day MySpace allowed you to login with your Facebook account was the day it died. May it R.I.P

It's alive and kicking. A friend of mine told me it's worth marketing to if you have a band to plug. But I say give it a try because it hasn't been touched in years so you might have some luck. If you do try it, let us know how it went. Things go in cycles, that's the circle of life, what was the in thig is out the next year until it is the in thing again a few years or decades later. It happens in fashion, music, movies, cars etc why not IM ?

^ exactly. They've evolved into a place that's more for music and bands than anything else.

I tried myspace again 2 weeks ago.. The captchas on there are fierce at the moment. One captcha every 25 friend requests and after that 1 every request. I believe messages work the same way.

Yep, I can confirm this. Very brutal. The CAPTCHAs make it not economical to market.

If you verify your account w/ a phone number you can totally remove any Captcha.

I never used myspace, don't even got an account. Don't think it's worth the trouble TBH

Everybody probably forgot about MySpace nowadays. It's like targetting AstaLavista as primary search engine.

I had to come into this post and see if the post was for or a joke. :) On a real note, the saying "Don't beat a dead horse" rings true in this situation.

I'm wondering, if MySpace is no longer the main event when it comes to social marketing, why hasn't BHW updated the forum to add a Twitter and/or Pinterest subforum, and retired the MySpace section?
