I had one of my websites indexed in 1 day and ranked in 3 days (for a keyword with no any searches though) without any backlinks. And now I have another new website that was indexed in 4 days, but it is still not ranked yet after one week since I started this website. The keyword is low competition.

I'm worried if I have not over optimized this website. I have a 320 words article on this page of my website and I have mentioned my keyword 1 time in the article and also in the title of the article (it is a WordPress blog). What would mean an over optimized website?

    That's not over optimization.

Over optimization occurs when you mention your keyword let's say 10 times or so in a 320 word article.

There's no such thing as over optimization. Every optimization is good!

That's called keyword stuffing, not over optimization.

Well, in my perception keyword stuffing IS a form of over optimization, but meh, if you say so...

Keyword you put your articles should be less than 5. You can put internal link in that keyword. Articles will be indexed better.

It sounds more like under optimization then over optimization.

I would add more content and try to get the article to 700+ words. Have a look at your competitors, how big is there article. Are they niche sites or parasite pages. There are lots of different factors for every keyword.

i wouldn't worry about your over optimization, especially if you increase your word count

over optimization also plays together with your backlink profile. When you dont have backlinks you can go more aggressive with keyword in URL / Title / body text etc

LOL at all the people here who have no idea what they are talking about. OP what is your keyword combo? 1,2,3 or more words? For example 1 word would be "widget", 2 words would be "best widget" etc..

Also calculate TOTAL keyword density of the page including blog title, tagline, tags and any other stuff that might raise the density. I would bet without even looking at your website that it IS over-optimized with just 320 words.

Should be fine if those are the only mentions of the keyword. How many words is your keyword? If it's three (seems to be the norm) that's only 6 in 320... So like 1.88% density. If I was you I'd do two things:

    1) Make the article longer, probably 750 words or more, but I usually end up in the 800s or low 1000s.
    2) Insert a variation of the keyword somewhere.

So if you are writing about "get rich quick" you might want to add a "fast way to get rich" in there somewhere for example. On my own articles which are 1000 words usually, I only include the keyword in the actual content maybe twice, these are three word keywords. But then I have quite a few variants... Like I write about "engine for red cars" then I might have a heading in there somewhere that says "engine oil for red cars". Mine seem to do well.

Curious, what's the difference between seeing parasite pages on page one vs. seeing niche sites? Are parasites easier to outrank or are they harder?

Parasite sites are like fighters. Initially, they're tanks and easy to level up. Owned websites are like wizards, in the beginning they're quite squishy and easy to kill. At high levels, if your wizard actually makes it that far, they become quite powerful, and could easily squash multiple fighters with one spell.

There are situations where parasite hosting is preferred, they're easy to scale up without increasing your footprint from DNS and hosting, they skip the sandbox, inherit some credibility from the root domain, accept links easier without getting snagged and they're FREE. On the downside, you don't really own it and its hard to flip.

This was possibly the simplest explanation I've read, but maybe that's because I'm a gamer geek... good show
