Is my site's name EMD?

I've been reading lately about EMD and Google's intentions to penalize them, but couldn't grasp the essence of it for my case. Do you thin my domain is one of the above and I should worry about it?
It's is scifi-real.*** and will be dedicated to sci-fi stuff.

It is an exact match if your keyword is scifi it is however not if your target is scifi real since no one searches the term "scifi-real"

EMD's were not punished, this is a big myth that has been circulating around.

What was punished was very obvious black hat links, as well as poor content.

In the past with an EMD you could get to the top of google easily, now google does not look at the actual domain as much.

Many people with EMD's and good HQ content were actually ranked higher with the change.

So all this noise about incoming banhammer was false alarm?

The term EMD, refers to getting a domain name that matches or very closely matches a keyword search term.
for example howtoloseweight.*** is a EMD.

In regards to penalties, what basically happen is that Giggle adjusted their algo to not give EMD the extra seo juice it once had.
