Are my site titles overly optimized? Will they have negative effect on my rankings?

Site # 1: Honda Forum : Acura & Honda Forums

Main KWs honda forum and honda forums


Site # 2 : Jeep Forums - Jeep Enthusiast Forum

Main KWs jeep forum and jeep forums

Not overly optimized, I'd say under-optimized.

Think of a different way to say forum instead of repeating it; you're not getting any extra benefit from having the phrase twice.

here's an idea: think more as a person and less as a search engine. use a phrase that will be attractive and make sense for a person and will make it more likely they will click on it. For example: "The premier community of Honda Acura owners on the web."

I also think so that the use of same phrase in the title will lead bad impact.

Definitely over-repritive. Try "Honda forum : Your number 1 stop for Honda Discussions"

They're probably not hurting anything, but your click rate.

Instead of

Code:

Honda Forum : Acura & Honda Forums

and

Code:

Jeep Forums - Jeep Enthusiast Forum

I'd go for

Code:

Honda Forum - Line that grabs the attention and makes them click it

What this line could be is up to you, there's already some good ones posted above.

First off you should always check your competitors and see what they are doing.

For the homepage I would go for something like:

Honda Forum | Acura Discussion Forums

Jeep Forum | Jeep Discussion Forums

Best practices for titles:

Keep under 70 characters, this is including spaces. (in some cases you can go as high as 90 but that's a different story for another day)

Most competitive keyword first, Google gives more authority to the words furthest left. Google bot as been proven to read left to right, similar how we do in the English language.

I don't personally use call to actions in titles most of the time - I use them in descriptions, but each his own.
