The weirdest shit has been happening to my account for the last month or two. It happens maybe every two weeks. Basically i get locked out of my account with the message that unusual activity was detected. Then it sends a message to my email with a code that then i have to enter to change my password. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and why it happens so often?

Yeah, it means someone is accesing some a different IP, check that your other info is also changed, they probably have access to your email or something similar and are using it to hack you easily.

But i don't see anything changed anywhere.

Do you use any bots or anything for Instagram?

Nothing. This only started to happen this year. I've had my account for years.

Change the Password and Enable 2fa,It can be a few Hack Attempts made on your Account which resulted into this Situation.

So now i'm fucked forever because of this shit? The account is just behaving in a very strange matter. For example: right now on the browser i can't visit any profiles. It tells me "error, wait a few minutes before trying again". But on the mobile app it doesn't happen.- It feels like my account is on a leash. And believe me, i really don't do much. I rarely add more than 30 people in a day. This only happened me one time before. It was when i was trying to see every friend request i had sent, so i was just scrolling down and clicking the button to reveal more names. After a few minutes it gave me that same error.

This same thing is happening to my Instagram account as well, once I disabled my account for few days but it deleted my account and I had to make a new account altogether, So frustrating.

enabling 2fa should fix this

Fix what? Getting hacked eor getting these warnings and blocks from IG? Because i'm pretty sure nobody is entering my account. There's no suspicious activity in it and the log in history only shows my devide and my location. What i wanna fix is this behaviour from IG.

change your password and set up the two-factor authentication

I don't think that will do it. I keep getting locked out and asked to change the password. I think what it is is basically the way i use instagram on the desktop. I open a lot of tabs and browse the site very fast which might seem automated. The fact that i switch between desktop and cellphone very fast may also trigger something. I might be answering a message on the desktop and 5 seconds later on the cellphone.

Are you really that naive? I mean, you are in a website called "BlackHatWorld"... Look, I'm not saying you are up to something wrong, but maybe having cracked softwares, visiting specific 'black' websites or even hidden malwares that you ended up dowloading when installing some software in your PC and things like may result in such weirdnesses. I believe that taking a deep look in your PC/Mobile files will help.

I'm pretty aware of what i download and my pc is clean. Also, no actual suspicious activity on my account. All the activity comes from me. Being here really means nothing.

One thing i wonder though: why are some people requested video/photo verification? I never got any of that. I always recover my account pretty quickly through mail. Is this a feature that they only enforce in certain countries?

I've never head of photo/video authentication... I didn't even know it existed. But well, when suspicious activities happen, Instagram tends to provide date/time and the country the action occurred, I don't know if you got to see any of that.

This topic has been going for a few days, did it stop already?

The BS didn't stop. Just got it again today. It says suspicious activity was detected and that they will send a mail with a code. In the mail i receive it says something like "someone tried to login with your username. If it was you, use the following code to confirm your identity".

I don't know what that mail really means. I don't know if it means a login attempt was actually detected or if I'M the one who tried to login and got locked out. I think it's just a generic message everyone gets when they need to use the activation code. But this happens right in front of my eyes. I'm browing instagram and the message appears.

Plus, right after that i get an action block, but only on the app, not on the browser. The thing is: the acton block doesn't do jackshit. It's a message that appears when i visit a profile saying the action was blocked for 1 day.

This leads me to believe it has something to do with performing too many actions. But i really don't. Maybe 30 friend requests in a day, 20-30 likes, 5 or 6 DM's. It's my personal account and i only have another one that i barely use just to test pictures before uploading them to the main account. I also rarely upload. Maybe switching back and forth between mobile and desktop triggers something. Because i might be having a conversation on the browser and using the cellphone to browse instagram

It's a really freaky issue.
